For parents
What parents usually ask us
You're probably the one paying and the one driving. This page is for you.
Payment
Dr. Goel gives you a written plan and fee before treatment, and the front desk sets up how you pay it. If you have dental coverage, we check what it pays toward braces and tell you before you decide.
How fees workSchedule
Visits are about every 6 to 10 weeks and most are short. We offer an after-school block and a late day each week, and you can ask for the time that costs the least school.
Who comes
A parent or guardian comes to the first visit. After that, your teen can come on their own if you tell us that's fine, and we send you a note about each visit.
Your teen's part
Braces ask a lot of a teenager: brushing, food rules, elastics, aligners worn on schedule. We talk to your teen directly, and we tell you when something isn't going to plan.
If something breaks
A loose wire or bracket usually isn't an emergency. Call us, and we'll say how to manage until the visit. For swelling in the face, trouble breathing or swallowing, or a hard blow to the head, call 911 or go to an emergency room.
Your records
We keep your teen's records private and share them only as the law allows. Health history goes on our patient portal, not in an email.
At the visit
A parent in the room, then a teen in the chair
You see the plan before your teen does anything.
At the first visit we talk with you both, together, about what your teen wants and what Dr. Goel sees. Then you decide, and you take the plan and the fee home in writing.
